Checking the wiring and component
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the transmission control module (TCM).
- Connect a breakout box to the transmission control module (TCM) connector (transmission side).
- Connect adapter 9511505 and breakout box 9511428 to the transmission connector (transmission control module (TCM) side).
- Disconnect the gearbox connector
Check the connectors of the transmission control module (TCM) and the transmission for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the cable between transmission control module (TCM) terminal #A65 (#B5) and gearbox connector terminal #U (#A18) (control module side). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Replace the transmission control module (TCM) if no fault was detected in the wiring or terminals.

Was a fault detected in the cables or terminals?
- YES
- NO
Refer to Checking the wiring and component
- Ignition off
- Open the gearbox control system
- Connect adapter
9511505
and breakout box
9511428
to the gearbox connector (gearbox side).
Check the gearbox and pressure switch module connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the cable between control module terminal #U (terminal #A18) and pressure switch module connector terminal #B. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the gearbox oil filter. Check for abnormal amounts of particles in the oil.
Replace the oil filter if necessary.
Replace the pressure switch module if no particles were found in the oil filter or there was no fault in the wiring.

Was an abnormal quantity of particles found in the gearbox oil trough and oil filter?
- YES
Refer to Replacing the gearbox
- NO

- Ignition off
- Open the gearbox control system
- Connect adapter
9511505
and breakout box
9511428
to the gearbox connector (gearbox side).
Check the cable between gearbox connector terminal #T (#A17) and solenoid SL terminal #A. Check the cable between gearbox connector terminal #E (#A5) and solenoid SL terminal #B. Check these cables for an open-circuit.
HINT: Check solenoid SL by measuring the resistance between solenoid SL terminals #A and #B. When the gearbox is cold (approximately 20°C), the resistance must be 10-11 Ω.
Remedy as necessary.
