Checking the signal cable
Check the cable between control module terminal #37 (#A37) and transmission connector (control module side) terminal #L (#11). Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
HINT: With the ignition on, the transmission connector disconnected and a voltmeter connected between terminal #L (#A11) and the ground terminal, the voltage must be 5 V.
NOTE:
Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the gear-shift position sensor and the solenoids may be stored when disconnecting the transmission connector.
Remedy as necessary.
