Checking the lock button signal wire

Disconnect contact on number plate lighting and check for Contact resistance and oxidation .

Check the wire between the rear electronic module (REM) D7 and the number plate lighting lamp housing 1 for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults . Check in particular the intermediate connector in the cable harness (1) and the connector in the rear electronic module (REM) for Contact resistance and oxidation .

Do the necessary corrective action.

If no fault is detected, ground 1 in the connector to the number plate lighting lamp housing and check that the text displays ON.

If the text does not display ON, replace the rear electronic module (REM).

If the text displays ON, replace the lock button.
