Checking the wires and connectors
Check rear electronic module (REM) and left and right boot lighting connectors for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation and loose contact as described in Loose connections (terminals) .
Check wires between rear electronic module (REM) 2E and left and right boot lighting 2 for an intermittent open circuit as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults , an intermittent short circuit to ground as described in Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults and an intermittent short circuit to voltage supply as described in Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults .
Check ground wires between left and right boot lighting 4 and ground point for an intermittent open circuit as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults .

- With boot lid open, voltage between left and right boot lighting 2 and ground should be approximately 12V.
