Checking the wires
Check the power supply between the rear electronic module (REM), B20 (D20) and the level sensor (ISM) connector 1 for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the ground wire between the rear electronic module (REM), ground point 31/72 and the level sensor (ISM) connector 5 for an open circuit, as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check special contact in the level sensor for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation .
If no fault is found, replace the sensor.
