Checking the signal from the switch in the rear door

Ignition on
Read off the status of the switch in both rear doors (indicates whether the doors are open or closed).
Open and close the left and right-hand rear doors. The status for each door must change when the door is opened/closed.

The fault is permanent if the status does not change.

If the status changes, this indicates an intermittent fault, i. e. the fault was present previously but is not active at the moment.
