Checking the wires and connectors
Check control unit connector and fuel gauge sensor connectors for a loose contact as described in Loose connections (terminals) , and for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation .
Check wires between fuel gauge sensor connector 7 and control unit A08 (A8) for an intermittent open circuit, as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults , an intermittent short circuit to ground, as described in Short-circuit to ground, intermittent faults and for an intermittent short circuit to voltage supply, as described in Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults .
Check ground wire between control unit A10 (A10) and fuel gauge sensor connector 6 for an intermittent open circuit, as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults .
Check wires between left and right fuel gauge sensor for an intermittent open circuit as described in Open-circuit, intermittent faults . Check pins and contacts for a loose contact as described in Loose connections (terminals) , and for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation .
