Checking components, wires and connectors
Check the fuel gauge sensor resistance (left side). The resistance across the respective sensor may vary between 12 ohm (full tank) and 383 ohm (empty tank).
HINT: Fuel gauge sensor resistance (left side) can be measured between fuel gauge sensor connector 5 and 6.
Check wires between fuel gauge sensor connector 5 and test box A02 (A2) for an open circuit, as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults , a short circuit to ground, as described in Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults and a short circuit to voltage supply, as described in Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .
Check ground wire between test box A10 (A10) and fuel gauge sensor connector 6 for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Do the necessary corrective action.
