Checking the component and wire

• Ignition off.

  Check the wire between central electronic module (CEM) connector #3B and ignition lock connector #15A for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults , and for a short circuit to ground as described in Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

  Additional information: 

  • The voltage should be the same as the battery voltage if the key is in position II or III.

  • To connect the test box to the control unit, see Connecting the breakout box .
