Checking pump motor function

• Ignition off.
• Check control unit and pump motor connectors for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation .
• Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
• Ignition on.
• Activate the pump motor.

  Check that the pump motor starts and appears to work normally.

  If the pump motor starts and appears to work normally, the fault has been caused by contact resistance and oxidation in the connector of either the control unit or pump motor.

Does the pump work OK? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
