Checking the component
Check that connector C is correctly connected.
Main antenna (FM & AM)
Check the cable between the main unit / audio control module terminal #C1 and the windshield amplifier (center terminal). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults . Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Check the windshield amplifier connection to the windshield. Check that the cable from the button is pointing towards the C-post.
Sub-antenna (FM)
Check the cable between the main unit / audio control module terminal #C2 and the sub-antenna amplifier (center terminal). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults . Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Remedy as necessary.
