Intermittent Fault

Check passenger compartment temperature sensor and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact Resistance And Oxidation .
Check cable between ECC control module #B8 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 4 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Intermittent Faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults .
Check cable between passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 2 and ground terminal for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Intermittent Faults .
Remedy as necessary.

- To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing Passenger Compartment Temperature Sensor (ECC) .
- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection of breakout box ECC .
- Voltage on the control signal lead should be battery voltage approximately when the fan is activated. For other values, refer to Signal Specification ECC .
