Signal Specification ECC

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Volvo C70, 2001 Volvo C70, 2000 Volvo C70, 1999 Volvo C70, and 1998 Volvo C70. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Connector A; A1-30

All values listed below should be measured between the respective terminal in column 1 (Terminal  ) and terminal A23 (ground) unless stated otherwise in column 4 (Other  ).

The ECC control module connector # A1-30 corresponds to the breakout box terminals # 1-30.

NOTE: The blower fan should be on, or the engine running at idle, in order for the control module to activate the damper motors when the selectors are turned.
NOTE: It is important to check ground terminals before taking readings. Connect breakout box according to Connection of breakout box ECC before readings are taken.

Increased duty cycle (+trigg) gives increased blower fan speed.
Signal is a pulsed signal with fixed frequency and variable duty cycle.
A16 Signal, panel lighting (from rheostat). f ≈ 125 Hz.
Increased duty cycle (+trigg) gives brighter lighting level.
Signal is a pulsed signal with fixed frequency and variable duty cycle.
