Checking Components And Cables

Check cable between ECC control module #AB8 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 4 for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults .
Check the cable between passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 2 ground terminal for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults .
Check that the fan motor is OK, the fan turns easily and the motor is not short-circuited internally.
HINT: A short-circuit on the ground lead can be caused by a short-circuit to supply voltage. Always check the signal cable for this fault cause as well.
Remedy as necessary.

- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection Of Breakout Box ECC .
- Voltage on the control signal lead should be battery voltage approximately when the fan is activated. For other values, refer to Signal Specification ECC .
