Checking Components And Cables

Check cable between ECC control module #B8 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 4 for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-Circuit To Ground, Permanent Faults .
Check that the fan motor is OK, the fan turns easily and the motor is not short-circuited internally.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
- To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing Passenger Compartment Temperature Sensor (ECC) .
- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection Of Breakout Box ECC .
- Voltage on the control signal lead should be battery voltage approximately when the fan is activated. For other values, refer to Signal Specification ECC .
