Checking Components And Cables

Check cable between ECC control module #A24 and damper motor terminal 5 and ECC control module #A25 and damper motor terminal 4 for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to ground according to Short-Circuit To Ground, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage. Permanent Faults .
If cables are OK, try a new damper motor.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
- To access/replace the damper motor for air distribution, refer to Replacing Damper Motor Air Distribution .
- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection Of Breakout Box ECC .
- Voltage on cables should be less than 1 V or 2-4 V below battery voltage, depending on in which direction the motor is turning. When the damper motor is not activated the voltage should be approximately 0 V. For other values, refer to Signal Specification ECC .
