Checking Components And Cables

Check cable between ECC control module #A8 and damper motor terminal 5 and ECC control module #A9 and damper motor terminal 4 (for right-hand drive car, control module #A10 and damper motor terminal 5 and control module #A11 and damper motor terminal 4) for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to ground according to Short-Circuit To Ground, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage. Permanent Faults .
If cables are OK, try a new damper motor.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access/replace driver's side temperature damper motor, refer to Replacing Damper Motor Temperature Driver's Side .
- Breakout box connection, refer to Connection of breakout box ECC .
- Voltage on cables should be less than 1 V or 2-4 V below battery voltage, depending on in which direction the motor is turning. When the damper motor is not activated the voltage should be approximately 0 V. For other values, refer to Signal Specification ECC .
