Checking Connectors

Ignition off
Corrective action to damper motor and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact Resistance And Oxidation .
Check any damage etc.
To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
To access the air distribution damper motor, refer to Replacing Damper Motor Air Distribution .
Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from the VADIS station. Use it in stand-alone mode and connect it to the data link connector (DLC).
Ignition on.
Wait at least 10 seconds so the control module can run diagnostics.
Read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) counters.
Check the counter value. If the counter is greater than 0 the control module interprets it as an intermittent fault. If the counter value is 0 the control module interprets the fault as permanent. If the value now changes it means that the damper motor is OK and that the fault was caused by loose connections in the connectors.

Is counter value greater than 0?

YES
OKAY: Troubleshooting has been completed.
NO
