Intermittent Fault

Check passenger compartment temperature sensor and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact Resistance And Oxidation .

Check cable between ECC control module #B6 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 5 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Intermittent Faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage, Intermittent Faults .

Check cable between ECC control module #B10 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 3 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Intermittent Faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage, Intermittent Faults .

Remedy as necessary.

Other information: 

• To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
• To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, see Replacing Passenger Compartment Temperature Sensor (ECC) .
• To connect the breakout box, see Connection Of Breakout Box ECC .
• The voltage on the signal cable varies with temperature. At 20°C (68°F) voltage should be approximately 2.5 V. For other values, see Signal Specification ECC .
