Checking Components And Cables

Check passenger compartment temperature sensor resistance. For resistance values, see ECC Electrical Specifications .

Check cable between ECC control module #B6 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 5 for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage. Permanent Faults .

Check cable between ECC control module #B10 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 3 for an open-circuit according to Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage. Permanent Faults .

HINT: A short-circuit on the ground lead can be caused by a short-circuit to supply voltage. Always check ground lead as well for this fault cause. 

Remedy as necessary.

Other information:

• The voltage on the signal cable varies with temperature. At 20°C (68°F) voltage should be approximately 2.5 V. For other values, see Signal Specification ECC .
