Intermittent fault

Check passenger compartment temperature sensor and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .

Check cable between ECC control module #B6 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 5 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults .

Check cable between ECC control module #B10 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 3 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Open-circuit, intermittent faults and an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage, intermittent faults .

Remedy as necessary.

Other information: 

• To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC control module .
• To access/replace the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing passenger compartment temperature sensor (ECC) .
• To connect the breakout box, see Connection of breakout box ECC .
• The voltage on the signal cable varies with temperature. At 20°C voltage should be approximately 2.5 V. For other values, see Signal specification ECC .
