Checking Connectors

Ignition off.
Corrective action to the passenger compartment temperature sensor and control module connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact Resistance And Oxidation .
Check carefully for signs of damage etc.
To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
To access the passenger compartment temperature sensor, refer to Replacing Passenger Compartment Temperature Sensor (ECC) .
Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
Disconnect the Volvo Scan Tool (ST) from the VADIS station. Use it in stand alone mode and connect it to the data link connector (DLC) in the car.
Ignition on.
Go into scrolling values.
Read off the temperature in the passenger compartment.
Check that the temperature reading obtained is correct. Compare with the actual air temperature.

If temperature is now OK this indicates that the fault was caused by poor contact in the connectors.

Is the temperature reading OK?

YES
OKAY: Troubleshooting has been completed.
NO
