Intermittent Fault

Check cable between ECC control module #B6 and passenger compartment temperature sensor terminal 5 for an intermittent short-circuit to ground according to Short-Circuit To Ground, Intermittent Faults .

Remedy as necessary.

Other information:

To remove the control module, refer to Replacing ECC Control Module .
To access/replace the outer temperature sensor, refer to Replacing Outside Temperature Sensor (Electronic Climate Control) .
To connect the breakout box, see Connection Of Breakout Box ECC .
The voltage on the signal cable varies with temperature. At 20°C voltage should be approximately 2.5 V. For other values, see Signal Specification ECC .
