Removing mounting screws and holders

Disconnecting the control arms from the stub axles

Remove:

the mounting screw for the cable conduit on the sub-frame. Unhook the pipe from the frame
the vacuum reservoir from the sub-frame.

Remove:

the hose for the charge air cooler (CAC).
the clamp for the exhaust pipe behind the three-way catalytic converter.

Removing the screwed joint

Removing the collision protection system over the steering gear (right-hand drive cars only)

Removing the right drive shaft

Removing the screw for the front engine pad in the sub-frame

Removing the cover and engine mounting

Remove:

the cover at the rear engine mounting
the rear mounting from the transmission.

Removing the left drive shaft

Lowering the engine and the transmission

Use lifting hook 9995460 . Lower until the distance between the lifting beam and the valve cover is approximately 290 mm .

NOTE:

If the engine is lowered too much, the exhaust pipe may press the steering gear down.

NOTE:

Ensure that no cables and hoses are trapped or stretched.

Removing the starter motor Torx screw

Loosely reinstall the screw through the starter motor and the cylinder block. This is to hold the starter motor in position.

Remove the remaining screws between the transmission and the engine.
