Pressure plate / clutch driven plate, replacing: Installation
Installing the clutch plate's centering tool
Use the centering tool 9995663 together with the sleeve 9995675 .
Remove the tapered nut from the centering tool. Fit the centering tool in the crankshaft's end as far in as possible. Tighten the nut on the tool so that the sleeve expands against the crankshaft, hold with a wrench when the nut is tightened. Check that the drifts are secured in the crankshaft.
Installing the clutch driven plate
Fit the plate with the long part on the plate center facing the flywheel. Fit the tapered nut with the long part facing out on the centering tool and fixate the plate.
The tightening tool may not be used on the tapered nut, this may cause damage on the plate.
Installing the compression tool
Fit the compression tool: 9995662 on the clutch. Make sure that the catches grip securely in the clutch housing and that the tool is centered accurately.
Screw in the screw so that it has contact with the clutch springs. Note the position of the handle with two grooves, these are used as alignment mark, then screw in 4.5 revolutions but not more.
Installing the retaining strap
Fit the clutch and align it with the guide pins.
Check that the clutch has contact with the flywheel all the way around, adjust if needed by tightening the screw slightly and check again.
Fit and tighten the screws crosswise so that the clutch has contact with the flywheel all the way around.
Tighten the screws crosswise. Tighten to 25 Nm .
Removing the tools
Loosen the center screw on the compression tool and remove the tool from the clutch.
Loosen the tapered nut a few turns.
Loosen the centering tool's nut a few turns, then tap lightly with a plastic mallet on the end of the tool, so that the expanding sleeve releases from the crankshaft.
Remove the centering tool. Remove the gear sector from the flywheel.
Cleaning and lubrication of input shaft
The input shaft must be lubricated before a manual gearbox is installed, see: Input shaft, cleaning .
