Checking Alignment Of Steering Wheel/Front Wheels

Connect special tool 9988695 .

Connect battery negative lead.

Drive the car slowly onto a level surface.
Carefully turn the steering wheel and check that it can be turned to full lock in each direction.
Check that the steering wheel is in the correct position in relation to the alignment of the front wheels, by slowly driving the car straight forwards and/or backwards.
WARNING: Do not drive the car further than necessary to check the alignment of the steering wheel/front wheels. The steering wheel is not properly tightened and the steering wheel module has been removed

If alignment steering wheel/front wheels OK

Continue on next step.

If steering wheel is not straight

Align so that the front wheels point straight forwards in accordance with Align Front Wheels .
Lock the contact reel and remove the steering wheel in accordance with operations Lock Contact Reel And Remove The Steering Wheel .
Continue with Installation Of Steering Wheel and Installation Of Steering Wheel, Final .

If the steering wheel cannot be turned to full lock

Align so that the front wheels point straight forwards in accordance with Align Front Wheels .
Lock the contact reel and remove the steering wheel in accordance with operations Lock Contact Reel And Remove The Steering Wheel .
Zero the contact reel in accordance with Zeroing Contact Reel .
Restart at Installation Of Steering Wheel and Installation Of Steering Wheel, Final .
