If the Car Is To Be Scrapped: General

For intentional detonation of the SIPS bag Volvo recommends the following:
- If the car is to be scrapped, the SIPS bag must be detonated in position in the car, see item If the Car Is To Be Scrapped .
- If the removed SIPS bag is to be scrapped, the SIPS bag cushion module is secured in a vice before detonation, see item If the Removed SIPS Bag Is To Be Scrapped .
WARNING:
Make sure no one is in the vehicle, and that no one is in front of the SIPS bag, when the SIPS bag is detonated. Detonation of a loose or dismantled SIPS bag can cause personal injuries.
NOTE:
Protective glasses and ear-muffs must be worn when performing these steps.
