Backrest upholstery, replacement: Removing

Removing

Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio is installed.
Remove battery negative lead.
Remove seat from car according to Seat removal .
Remove lumbar adjustment knob. Unscrew in a counter-clockwise direction until stop. Then continue unscrewing counter-clockwise while pulling firmly outwards.

Remove clamping hooks (use cutting nippers) on the outside upholstery.
Stretch the upholstery sides downward so that it is released from the clamping hooks. Do not bend up the clips.
Start working off the upholstery from the seat.
Then remove all the clamping hooks between the upholstery and the seat padding.

Installing

Install in reverse order.

Start attaching clamping hooks at the middle of the backrest between the upholstery and the padding.

Use special pliers P/N 1158962 for fastening the clamping hooks.
