Bevel gear oil, replacement

Drilling holes:

CAUTION:

The oil in the bevel gear MUST be warm before drained.

Remove:

- vibration damper.

- the stud.

- level plug.

NOTE:

Place a container under the bevel gear.

WARNING:

Oil will poor out of the drilled hole.

Use caution oil MAY be warm.

Drill:

- a 6 mm (1/4 Inch) diameter hole in the screwhole bottom in the bevel gear.

Empty:

- the oil from the bevel gear.

Installing screw:

Clean thread with degreaser before installing the bolt.

Install:

thread seal (PN 1161370-0) on the screw
the stud in its place. Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 ft.lbs.).
vibration damper. Tightening torque 25 Nm (18.5 ft.lbs.).

Add approximately 0.75 liters (25 oz.) of oil (P/N. 1161513-5).

Install:

the level plug. Use a new washer (P/N 11998-2). Tightening torque 35 Nm (26 ft.lbs.).

Applying decal:

Apply the decal (P/N 9480154-5) on the air cleaner (ACL) cover as illustrated above.
