Removing engine cooling fan (FC)

The fusible link cable was introduced on model year -93 as a replacement part to the engine cooling fan (FC) on 850 cars. This is a general description. (Some engine variants and certain markets do not have the components listed below).

NOTE: Make note of radio code.

Remove:

battery negative lead
upper charge air pipe from charge air cooler (CAC) (turbocharger (TC))
air intake and inlet hose connected to air cleaner (ACL).
canister purge (CP) valve connector
canister purge (CP) valve hose
four screws for engine cooling fan (FC) cover.
air duct connecting to the control module box.
connectors for the fan (bend shroud back slightly).
hoses at intake manifold and the EGR valve (bend shroud back slightly).
fan shroud spacers
fan and shroud.
