Installing the drive shaft in the transmission

NOTE: Only applies to cars with 4T65AWD transmissions.

Lubricate the drive shaft mating surface.

Use oil P/N 116 1521-8 (1 liter container).

Press the drive shaft into the transmission. Check that the snap ring is in the groove on the transmission by pulling the constant velocity joint.

NOTE: Only applies to cars with M66AWD transmissions.

Lubricate the drive shaft mating surface.

Use oil P/N 116 1745 (1 liter container).

Press the drive shaft into the transmission. Check that the snap ring is in the groove on the transmission by pulling the constant velocity joint.

NOTE: Do not pull the drive shaft as the axial pinions cannot support large loads.
