Cleaning and Lubricating the Input Shaft

Install a tie strap round the throwout fork as illustrated

Check that:

The transmission cover and engine mating surfaces are clean
The guide sleeves on the engine are in place and undamaged.

Apply a light coating of grease in the holes for the guide sleeves (on the transmission).

NOTE: Do not apply grease to the primary shaft and the throwout bearing sleeve.
