Removing the Fuel Line For the Engine Coolant Heater
WARNING:
Protective gloves and protective goggles must be used for the following operations. This is due to the risk of fuel spillage.
Remove:
- the quick-release connector at the rear edge of the sub-frame
- the hose clamp for the heater.
HINT: Use special tool 9512619 (Oetiker pliers) to remove and to fasten the clamps.
Pull the pipe loose from the clip.
Remove:
- the cover over the fuel line. Move the clips to one side.
- the quick-release connector and the hose clamp for the fuel hoses.
Plug the hoses.
Remove:
- the rear seat cushion. See Upholstery, Seat Cushion, Replacing
- the insulation
- the four nuts
- the inspection hatch for the fuel tank unit.
Disconnect the quick-release connector (as illustrated). Pull up the fuel hose.
