Removing the Fuel Pump (FP) For the Engine Coolant Heater

WARNING: Protective gloves and protective goggles must be used for the following operations. This is due to the risk of fuel spillage.

The fuel pump (FP) is located against the front right-hand side of the fuel tank.

NOTE: Note the tilt angle on the fuel pump (FP), 15°. It is important for the pump function that the angle is correct.

Remove the quick-release connector and the hose clamp for the fuel hoses.

HINT: Use special tool  9512619  (Oetiker pliers) to remove and to fasten the clamps. 

Plug the hoses.

Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

Remove one nut retaining the pump holder.
