Installing the drive shaft in the transmission, both sides

Lubricate the drive shaft mating surface.

Use oil, Volvo P/N 116 1521-8 (1 liter container).

Press the drive shaft into the transmission. Check that the snap ring is in the groove on the transmission by pulling the constant velocity joint.

NOTE:

There is no lock ring on the right side.

NOTE:

Do not pull on the drive shaft as the axial stops cannot support high loads.
