Checking components and connections
If there are other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the engine control module (ECM), these must be fault traced first.
- Ignition on
- Activate the ranking values read out
- Check the ranking values for the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) listed in the smart tool by marking the relevant code.
This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that the engine emissions were too high due to fuel shut-off.
To determine the fault which caused the increased emissions, the ranking values must be read off. By looking at the ranking values, the fault can be found even though no diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. For further information about the ranking values, see Ranking values .
The measuring tool for this fault-tracing reads off the ranking values for diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) ECM-3100, ECM-310A, ECM-900C and ECM-990F. These diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) can use fuel shut-off as a substitute value.
The ranking values vary between 0 and 255. If any of the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have a ranking value above 128, these must be fault-traced using the standard procedures.
