Checking components and wiring
HINT: If the cable and the combined instrument panel are fault free the voltage between terminals A and C on the fuel level sensor connector should be approximately 5 V.
Check the fuel level sensor resistance between terminal A and terminal C in the fuel level sensor connector. Check the connector for Contact resistance and oxidation .
Check the signal cable between the fuel level sensor terminal A and the combined instrument panel terminal B17 (#A47) for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults , and an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .
Remedy as necessary.
