Checking components and wiring
HINT: If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DIM-02 Fuel level sensor is stored at the same time, then there is a fault in the common ground lead for combined instrument panel terminal #B17.
Check the gas level sensor and combined instrument panel connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the resistance of the gas level sensor between terminals #1 and #2 on the sensor by the gas tank. The resistance must be between 79 ohm (full tank) - 1104 ohm (approximately 5 liters remaining).
Check the signal cable between combined instrument panel terminal #B8 (#8) and gas level sensor terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Also check the cable between the sensor and the connectors.
Check the ground lead between combined instrument panel terminal #B17 (#17) and gas level sensor terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
