Checking components and wiring

Start by checking that the trip computer setting button is not jammed
Ignition off.
Check the cable between combined instrument panel connector terminal #A11 and trip computer connector terminal #8. Check the trip computer set button terminal #8. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

Remedy as necessary.
