Removing Seat Belt (Inertia) Reel With Seat Belt Tensioner From B-Post

Remove: 

Installation 

When installing tighten the screws to 48 Nm  .

WARNING:

The battery must not be connected when the ignition cable connector is being removed or installed.

WARNING:

Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed seat belt tensioner. This could deploy it.

Remove: 

Remove the screw at lower edge of the seat belt reel with seat belt tensioner.

Remove the seat belt reel with seat belt tensioner through the hole in the side of the B-post.

WARNING:

After a collision, both upper seat belt guides, the seat belt (inertia) reels with seat belt tensioners and the seat belt buckle must always be replaced. This applies even if no-one was sitting in the passenger seat.

Installation 

When installing tighten the screw to 48 Nm  .

WARNING:

The seat belt tensioner must never be taken apart, repaired or moved to another vehicle. For handling replaced seat belt tensioner, see Handling replaced SRS airbags / seat belt tensioners .
