Transmission Fluid Pan, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Transmission Fluid Pan, Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation under the transmission.

-- Place the Drip Tray or Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit: SMN372500  underneath.

-- Remove the ATF check plug -A-.

-- Remove the overflow pipe -C- and drain any remaining ATF.

-- Loosen and remove the transmission fluid pan bolts -arrows- in a diagonal sequence.

NOTE:

Some residual ATF will remain in the transmission fluid pan.

-- Remove the transmission fluid pan together with the transmission fluid pan gasket.

Transmission Fluid Pan, Installing

Install in reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Clean the two magnets in the oil pan depressions. Make sure the entire surface of the magnets touch the transmission fluid pan.

-- Check the gasket for damage and make sure all of the spacers (quantity: 8) are present.

Otherwise, replace the gasket.

-- Insert the transmission fluid pan with the gasket. Be sure not to pinch any lines while doing so.

-- Make sure the transmission fluid pan gasket is seated correctly.

-- Tighten the transmission fluid pan bolts -arrows- diagonally and in several steps to the tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - VALVE BODY .

-- Install the overflow pipe -C- to the tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - VALVE BODY .

-- Replace the seal -B- for the ATF check plug -A-.

-- Only install the ATF check plug -A- with a new seal -B- hand-tight.

-- Fill the ATF, and check the ATF level and add ATF if necessary. Refer to ATF, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
