Brake Pads, Removing And Installing: Installing

Conditions

For clarity the following procedure is shown with the brake caliper removed.

-- Use the Piston Resetting Tool: T10145  -A- to completely press back the piston.

-- Firmly push the brake pad retaining plate -arrows- on the brake carrier.

For Directional Brake Pads 

-- Install the directional brake pads "OUTSIDE" -1- outside and "INSIDE" -2- inside.

Continuation for All Vehicles 

-- Push the brake pad -1- in the direction of -arrow A- against the resistance of the brake pad springs -2- in the cut-out of the brake carrier.

-- Press the brake pad -1- at the same time in the direction of -arrow B- in the cut-out of the brake carrier and against the brake rotor in direction of -arrow C-.

-- Press the brake pad springs -arrows- on the brake carrier.

Conditions

-- Place the brake caliper on the brake carrier.

-- Counterhold at the guide pin -3- and mount the brake caliper on the brake carrier -1- with new self-locking bolts -2-.

-- Attach the connector for the Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor -G35-.

-- Refer to WHEEL, INSTALLING .

With the Vehicle Stationary, Firmly Press the Brake Pedal Several Times so That the Brake Pads in the Operating Condition Properly Sit in Their Respective Position.

-- Check the brake fluid level.

Conditions

-- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
