Shock Absorber, Removing And Installing: Removing

The following information describes the removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle as an example.

-- Refer to Wheel, Removing .

-- Refer to VEHICLE, SECURING TO HOIST LIFTING ARMS  .

-- Remove the Left Rear Level Control System Sensor -G76- on the spring link. Refer to Left and Right Rear Level Control System Sensor G76/G77, Removing and Installing .

Vehicles with adaptive ride control 

-- Disconnect the connector -3- from the Left Rear Damping Adjustment Valve -N338-.

-- Remove the wire -arrow- from the bracket at the shock absorber -2-.

Continuation for all vehicles 

-- Place the Engine and Gearbox Jack: VAS 6931  under the spring link and push lightly upward.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the shock absorber -1-.

-- Remove the nut -4-.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Press together the shock absorber -1-.

-- Remove the shock absorber -1- from the spring link -3-.
