Vehicle, Securing To Hoist Lifting Arms

Tensioning Strap: T10523

CAUTION:

Risk of injury due to the vehicle sliding off the hoist.

The vehicle must be secured to the hoist.

- Secure the vehicle as described in the procedure on the hoist.

The following information describes the removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle as an example.

Tying down for procedures at the control arms:

-- Remove the rear center underbody trim panel. Refer to CENTER UNDERBODY TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Wrap the hoist lifting arms -B- with the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -A- on both sides of the vehicle.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the lines.

- Pay attention that no brake lines, wires, hoses and connections are pinched or stretched.

-- Place the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -A- around the rear axle -1-.

-- Route the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -A- in a way that it does not interfere with later procedures.

-- Insert the end of the tensioning strap into the seat belt latch of the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -A-.

-- Tie down the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -A-.

Tie down for procedures on the rear axle and for removing the rear axle:

-- Connect the Tensioning Strap: T10523 three times to one another.

CAUTION:

Damages to the vehicle due to insufficient protective measures.

- Cover the paint surfaces and components with suitable service equipment and protect them against damage.

- When placing the tensioning straps, pay attention that no brake lines, wires, hoses and connections are damaged.

- Align the tensioning strap ratchets that they can be operated, but do not damage the vehicle.

-- Open both rear doors.

-- Route the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1- through the vehicle around the hoist.

-- Wrap the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1- around the support arms -2- of the hoist on both sides of the vehicle.

-- Guide the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1- under the vehicle.

-- Route the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1- in a way that they do not interfere with later procedures.

-- Insert the end of the tensioning strap into the seat belt latch of the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1-.

-- Tie down the Tensioning Strap: T10523 -1-.
