Triple Roller Joint, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Slide the small clamp for the joint protective boot onto the drive axle.

-- Slide the CV boot onto the drive axle.

-- Clamp the drive axle -1- into a vise -A- with jaw protectors -B-.

-- Clean the triple roller star -1-.

-- Attach the triple roller star -1- on the drive axle -2-. At the same time the bevel -arrow- on the triple roller star -1- points to the drive axle -2-.

-- Drive on the triple roller star -1- onto the drive axle -2- using the Press Piece - 37mm: VW416B  -C-.

-- Drive on the triple roller star -1- all the way.

-- Install the new circlip -3- using the Circlip Pliers: VAS 5503A  -C-.

-- At the same time pay attention to proper seating.

-- Press half of the total amount of grease from the repair kit into the triple roller joint.

-- Slide on a clamp with a larger diameter.

-- Slide the joint piece over rollers and secure.

-- Press the remaining amount of grease from the repair kit into the rear side of the triple roller joint.

-- Slide the CV boot with the clamp onto the joint.

-- Refer to Axle Boot Clamp, Tensioning  .
