Rear Lid Drive Units VX69/VX77, Removing And Installing: Removing

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury if the rear lid is loose.

- Support the rear lid.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damage to surrounding components if the rear lid is loose.

Paint damage possible.

- Support the rear lid.

-- Support the rear lid with the Hood Support: VAS 501 003  .

-- Remove the C-pillar trim panel. Refer to C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -3-.

-- Remove the grommet -2- and guide out the wire -4-.

-- Push the drive unit -1- from the ball stud -5- and hold it.

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the spring clip by prying out further.

Tearing of the spring clip is possible.

- Never pry the spring clip completely out of the ball socket.

-- Pry out the spring clip -3- in the -direction of the arrow- using a commercially available screwdriver -4-.

-- Disconnect the ball socket in the drive unit -1- from the ball stud -5-.

-- Push the spring clip -3- back into the starting position.

-- Repeat the process at the second spring clamp.

If the drive unit needs to be replaced:

-- Refer to REAR LID DRIVE UNIT -VX69- / REAR LID DRIVE UNIT 2 -VX77-, PREPARING FOR DISPOSAL  .
