Electric Drive Power And Control Electronics, Removing And Installing, AWD: Removing

-- Refer to REAR MOTOR, REMOVING .

-- Refer to Motor, Securing to Engine and Transmission Holder, Rear Motor .

-- Remove the lock washers -arrows- and the noise insulation -1-.

-- Remove the double bolts -1- and bolts -arrows-.

-- Pry out the cap -1- at the shown locations -arrows-.

Condition

Tip

The cover may bend during removal depending on the strength of the sealant. This is why the cover always needs to be replaced.

Prepare the Anti-Rotation: T10614  to loosen the bolts for the busbars:

-- Loosen the bolts -C- for the holding plates -B- one turn.

Condition

-- Install the anti-rotation protector -A- hand tight to the three-phase current drive, as shown, using the bolts from the cover -arrows-.

-- In order to loosen the bolts of the busbars, press the holding plates -B- to the right and fasten the bolts -C- hand-tight.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the busbars -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the anti-rotation protector -A-.

-- Remove the bolts -2- for the power electronics -1- 5 mm -a-.

-- Position the Anti-Rotation: T10611  -D- as shown on the power electronics -1-.

-- Install the bolts -E- hand-tight against the bolt heads -2-.

Condition

CAUTION:

Risk of damaging the connector.

- Before pulling out the power electronics, the connector lock -arrow- must be released and held by a second person.

-- Release and hold the connector lock -arrow-.

-- When releasing the connector lock -arrow- install the bolts -E- evenly and remove the power electronics all the way on the bolt heads -2-.

-- To prevent the connector from locking again, insert a plastic wedge in between the power electronics and the three-phase current drive.

-- Remove the puller -D-.

-- Remove the bolts and remove the power electronics.



-- Refer to Front Motor, Removing .

-- Refer to MOTOR, SECURING TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HOLDER, FRONT MOTOR .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the cover -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- for the power electronics -1-.

-- Remove the power electronics -1- from the three-phase current drive.
