Bearing Bracket, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Remove the plug -arrow-.

-- Secure the Chain Tensioner Lever:T40243  -A- with bolts -B- at the cylinder head.

The help of a second technician is necessary for the following procedure.

-- Press the chain tensioner circlip -3- together and hold it.

-- Press the Chain Tensioner Lever:T40243  -A- in direction of -arrow- and hold, to push back the chain tensioner -1-.

Tip

The chain tensioner -1- is oil damped and can be slowly pressed together using even force.

-- Lock the chain tensioner -1- using the Locking Tool:T40435  -A-.

-- Remove the Chain Tensioner Lever:T40243  .

-- Install the bolts -arrows- and tighten them.

-- Coat the holes -arrows- with clean engine oil.

-- Insert the adapter sleeve -1-.

Requirement

• The adapter sleeve -1- must be flush at the housing of the bearing bracket.

-- Attach the bearing bracket carefully and straight.

-- Install the bolts -1 to 6- all the way by hand.

-- Remove the Locking Tool:T40435  .

-- Tighten the bearing bracket bolts, at the same time the adapter sleeve is pulled into the cylinder head with the bolt -2-.

-- Refer to CHECKING THE CONTROL VALVE  .

-- Perform the adaptation with the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester . Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
