Converter with Socket, 12 V - 230 V -U13-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Torque Screwdriver:VAG1624
Risk of electric shocks.
- There are condensers within the housing of the Converter with Socket, 12 V-230 V -U13-, which can be charged with a residual voltage, the housing must not be opened.
- No repairs may be performed on the connector, on the wires and the 230 V socket.
- If there is a fault at the connector, at the wires, at the 230 V socket or in the converter, then the entire unit must always be replaced.
Removing
-- Switch off the ignition and all electrical equipment.
-- Place the ignition key and other drive authorization systems outside of the vehicle interior, to avoid an unintentional start of the vehicle.
Vehicles with damages to the cables in between the Converter with Socket, 12 V-230 V -U13- and the 230 V socket.
-- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when the ignition is switched off. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Remove the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the connector of the wire -2-.
-- Free up the wire -2 and 3-.
-- Remove the bolts -4-.
-- Remove the Converter with Socket, 12 V-230 V -U13- -1- with the bracket in direction of the -arrow-.
-- Remove the bolts -3-.
-- Remove the Converter with Socket, 12 V-230 V -U13- -1- from the bracket -2-.
Installing:
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
