Gear Oil Level, Checking, Bevel Box "0FN"

Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500

NOTE:

The bevel box is attached to the side of the transmission and has it own oil system.

Refer to the appropriate Electronic Parts Information for the gear oil specification.

Requirements

Bevel box must be in the installation position.

-- Lift the vehicle, all four mounts from lifting platform at the same height.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500 underneath.

-- Remove the oil filler hole plug -1-.

Replace the oil filler plug after removing.

On current bevel boxes the oil level is under the oil filler hole and cannot be checked.
If the oil level is filled to the oil filler hole extract 100 ml gear oil. Refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING, BEVEL BOX "0FN" .

NOTE:

Carefully remove leaking oil from the bevel box.

Ignore -item 2-.

-- Add gear oil if necessary. Refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Install the new oil filler plug -1-.

-- Tighten the bolt to the tightening specification. Refer to OVERVIEW - BEVEL BOX COMPONENTS .
